About CA Intermediate
The Institution of Chartered Accountants of India is responsible for all the CA Operations in India. It has divided the CA Course into 3 different stages CA Foundation Course, CA Intermediate Course, and CA Final Course. ICAI also did some modifications the CA Foundation is replaced by CPT ( Common Proficiency Test), CA Intermediate Course is replaced by CA IPCC and the final remains the same. CA Intermediate is the second stage of the Chartered Accountancy course. It is also the pathway for new students who want to join CA through CA direct entry route method. Students can join the CA Intermediate course through two methods CA Direct entry route method and CA Foundation Entry Route Method.
You have passed the CA entrance exam. Now, you have become part of the Chartered Accountants of India. This is the beginning of your journey as a CA student. After passing the CA Foundation you have to clear the next level i.e. Intermediate and CA Final. And remember friends every level is five times more difficult than earlier so get ready for the hard work.
Those students who want to register directly for the CA Intermediate course can apply through the direct entry scheme if they are Graduate or Postgraduate or appearing in the final year of Graduation or cleared the Intermediate level of CS or ICWAI.
Let’s start with how will be your journey after passing out CA Foundation. As you know that ICAI has revised its curriculum and due to this IPCC is replaced by Intermediate. Once you have passed the CA Foundation Course you will have to get register for the CA Intermediate course.

Eligibility
Eligibility Criteria or Qualification Required for CA Inter Course by CA Foundation Route – The students after clearing the CA Foundation or Common Proficiency Test CPT become eligible to register for the CA Intermediate.
Qualification Required for CA Inter Course by Direct Entry Route – The Graduates, postgraduates and students having equivalent degrees can register directly for the CA Intermediate without appearing at the entrance level CA foundation.
- Students who are graduates/Postgraduates in Commerce and secured a minimum of 55% can register directly for Intermediate without passing CA Foundation or CPT.
- Non-Commerce Graduates & Post Graduates can also register for Intermediate by securing 60% marks in Graduation & Post Graduation.
- Apart from the above, the students who cleared the Intermediate level of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India or The Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
- Registration to Intermediate Course and undergo ICITSS training of four weeks. listed for practical training of three years after completing ICITSS and appearing in the Intermediate Examination after completion of nine months of practical training.
What is CA Intermediate Direct Entry?
The Direct Entry Scheme allows eligible graduates and postgraduates to bypass the CA Foundation course and register directly for the CA Intermediate level.
Eligibility Criteria

Commerce Graduates/Postgraduates:
- Minimum of 55% aggregate marks in your degree from a recognized university.

Non-Commerce Graduates/Postgraduates:
- Minimum of 60% aggregate marks in your degree from a recognized university.

Intermediate Level Pass-Outs of Other Professional Institutes:
- Candidates who have passed the Intermediate-level examination of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) or the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) are also eligible.
Last Date For Admission in CA – Intermediate Course
The exam for the CA Intermediate is held twice a year May and November. Students who want to pursue CA Inter have to register online for the course.
Registration last dates: –
- For the May term examination- 1st September (Appearing in May, Next Year)
- For the January term examination- 1st May (Appearing in January, Next Year)
- For the November term examination- 1st March (Appearing in November, Same Year)
- Note – Register in CA Intermediate Course at least 9 Months before the Examination.

Registration Fee for CA Inter
Registration Fee for CA Inter Course ICAI For Single Group (I/II)13000-/ Rs. and for Both Groups 18000-/ Rs. CA Intermediate course. CA Inter registration is valid for Four years and Students can revalidate their registration for a further four years by depositing Rs. 400/- as revalidation fees.

- Students have to submit an attested copy of the class 12th marks sheet or its equivalent Central Govt. recognized examination pass Mark statement.
- Affix a colored and latest photograph on the hard copy of the CA Intermediate Registration Form.

ICAI CA Intermediate Course: Training Details
A student can register for the practical training after passing either one or both groups. In addition to this one has to undergo the ITT and OT each consists of 15 days. Once you have passed both groups of Intermediate, you will be eligible to register for the CA Final.
